Remembering Brontotaurus

Postby Lycria » Sun Feb 17, 2013 2:03 pm

Brontotaurus, a former member of Warseeker Tribe, has passed away earlier today.

I have many fond memories of playing with Michael from the days in <not a guildmember>, Unity and beyond until he left us in Cataclysm to pursue greener pastures. He was helpful towards his fellow guild members and protective of the community. He also wasn't always easy to get along with, and sometimes controversial in the things he said. His long fight against his diabetes made him more sarcastic over time, making it not easy to see that he was a good person at heart. He will be missed by many.

He was a very big fan of World of Warcraft, the lore, and the community, absorbing new stories like a sponge. I picture him being with Cairne Bloodhoof now, looking upon Azeroth and watching the things to come.

Lok'tar ogar, Brontotaurus. Until we meet again.

Sometimes controversial, and sometimes just inappropriate, but mostly for the guild.

I saw all sides of him, and during my time as a WST officer had to reign him in on more than one occasion, but I prefer to remember the good and helpful side of him (and there was plenty of that).

Rest in peace Bronto.

May his family and friends find some solace in knowing he is somewhere better now. Thank you, Lycria.

Ah shit, I am close to tears here, i knew he wasn't doing too well, but i had hoped he'd recover again as he has always previously managed to bounce back - he was the first from the guild that i had added as a friend on MySpace then Facebook( my facebook has less than 60 friends on it and i have to have had a 'personal relationship' before your added) and regularly chatted to outside of game, and although we had some disagreements, mostly prior to me being an officer, i still thoroughly enjoyed his company.
He didn't suffer fools lightly;- but he always attempted, and spent time, assisting people with their class and all aspects of the game, he wasn't perfect but he was always for the Tribe, infact that was his tag line "For the Tribe".

He was a real ambassador for the game and guild - obviously until he got caught in a weird loop with others, and left the guild on some toons and came under criticism for his decision, rightly so in many's reasoning, given his very very strong views on not being able to have toons in WST and in differing guilds.

My most lingering memory of him is when he was coming in game from his hospital bed after having a leg amputated and being close to death's door, and apologising for being unable to tank in the raid and feeling he had let the side down( the raid was a 25 man and his lack of attendance did infact result in the raid being cancelled <3 ), infact i think he did tank a few from his hospital bed :-) i also think it was Lyc that took him his laptop to hospital, and if it wasn't Lyc it was Echo?

RIP Michael -i hope you are now in peace and enjoying everything that you deserve, just change guns to sword and shield. <3

Also my heart goes out to Lyc who was a RL friend of Bront's

Sad news indeed.

My fondest memory of him is PVP'ing early on a Sunday's morning and chatting away on TeamSpeak.

God knows he and I didn't always see eye to eye, as we are (were?) both strongly opinionated.

Lok'tar Ogar, Bronto. Mal sehen!

I hope he came to terms with the harsh hand the universe dealt him. If not, may he at least rest in peace now.

That's very sad.

I know there were sometimes things, but I can only say good of him, very helpful guy. I was sorry that he left, I think he belonged here more then anywhere.

May he rest in peace

Bronto was in the same game club I'm a member of. One of the club's officers put up a web page to remember Michael. It is in German, so you may have to get some translation help through Google or similar to read it. It is openly accessible, you can light a candle there for him or leave a message in the condolence book.
